Located in the heart of the Midwest's Driftless area, Galena, Illinois.

Three Moon Brooms is the work of Hesper Nowatzki, a clinician and lifelong artist whose path has always blended care, craft, and creativity.
By profession, Hesper is a doctorate trained psychiatric provider, with years of experience in mental health, hospice, and complex medical care. Her clinical work centers on understanding the nervous system, trauma, and the ways people seek grounding and meaning. That perspective quietly informs everything she makes.
Creatively, Hesper has spent decades working across mediums, including floristry, illustration, cosmetology, and other hands on artistic pursuits. Broom making became a natural extension of that lifelong creative practice…tactile, functional, symbolic, and rooted in tradition.
Each broom is designed and made by hand using traditional techniques and natural materials. No two are identical. Form, balance, color, and texture are chosen with intention, often inspired by folklore, lunar cycles, and the emotional tone of the work itself.
Three Moon Brooms exists at the intersection of the practical and the meaningful. These are brooms meant to be used, lived with, and kept…objects that hold both purpose and presence.

Featuring totally practical and practically magical products. One of a kind, unique hand crafted goods, using centuries-old, traditional techniques in broom making. Each piece is designed with thoughtful intention. Inspired by nature and our journey around the Wheel of the Year, my brooms breathe new life into this ancient and historic art form.
Please message at 2hags@threemoonbrooms.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
At this time, I am not offering scheduled releases. Any future releases will be announced on social media when dates are set.
I am currently focused on completing custom orders. When finished pieces become available for purchase, they will be listed here.
Brooms are best stored hanging when not in use. If hanging isn't an option, flip broom upside down and stand on it's handle. (Bristles up). ThreeMoon Brooms are safe to use on all surfaces. Keep dry and store out of direct sunlight. Spin broom often while using to prevent broomcorn from sloping in one direction.
All brooms offered here are designed and made by me and are sold exclusively through this website.
Updates about availability, custom work, and any upcoming releases are shared on social media, primarily on Facebook.
Coming soon, a permanent destination broom shop is underway! You’ll be able to visit Hag Hollow in rural Galena, IL when it is ready!
I’m grateful for the interest in my work. Due to the limited and hands on nature of my production process, I’m not able to offer wholesale or business accounts at this time.
I do participate in craft fairs and in person events, with a preference for staying within the Driftless region of the northern Midwest. Please feel free to reach out for details or to inquire about my event schedule. You’re also welcome to contact me if there is an event you’d like me to consider participating in.
I accept custom orders once each year, opening on September 1st. I work on custom commissions for approximately six months out of the year to ensure each broom receives the time and attention it deserves.
Custom order opportunities, including Wyrd Brooms, are intentionally limited. My 2026 custom commissions are fully sold out. Reservations for my 2027 custom crafting cycle will open on this website on September 1st, 2026. Purchasing a custom order reservation secures your place for a broom that will be completed between January and May 2027.
What are Wyrd Brooms?
Wyrd Brooms are small batch, made to order custom offerings built around a specific broom handle. When available, I occasionally post individual handles for purchase. Claiming a handle secures a spot for a custom broom crafted specifically around that piece of wood.
With a Wyrd Broom, you may
• choose up to three broomcorn colors
• select your preferred twine color
• choose between a besom (round) or sweeper (flat) style
While I honor these choices, Wyrd Brooms are also intuitively crafted, allowing room for creative flow in the final design. I do not add charms or external embellishments beyond what can be created with broomcorn itself.
Wyrd Broom offerings are extremely limited and are announced here and on social media when available. There are no active Wyrd Broom listings at this time.
Thank you for understanding the slow, intentional nature of my work. Each broom is made with care and attention, and I believe in creating them in a way that honors both the craft and the people who bring them home.
I take great care to complete custom orders as thoughtfully and efficiently as possible. Orders are fulfilled in the order they are received.
Broom making is a hands on process that can take several days depending on the complexity of the design, as well as the time needed for dyeing and drying materials. To avoid disappointment, please plan for up to a twelve week turnaround once I begin work on your broom.
I will always communicate with you about approximate timelines and progress for your specific order. Advanced planning is encouraged and appreciated.
I require signature confirmation for all full size brooms. All packages are insured.
I currently ship only within the United States using USPS. Shipping costs are calculated based on weight and package dimensions. Brooms larger than 20 inches include a handling fee when shipped through USPS.
Most full size brooms can be shipped for under $40.00.
I caution customers against using my brooms as modes of transportation. My brooms are intended for sweeping and for activities associated with housekeeping and ritual use only. Please refer to any applicable flight or transportation regulations in your area.
In no event shall Three Moon Brooms be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or connected with the use or misuse of these products.
Witchery quite simply means "the practice of magic". It is defined as compelling power exercised by beauty, eloquence, or other attractive or fascinating qualities. Magic can be created with simple intention and even through mundane tasks, like sweeping. Everything has the potential for magic if you allow it.
At this time, I am not offering broom making classes. Because my professional work as a clinician involves teaching and guiding others throughout the day, broom making remains a quiet and grounding creative practice for me.
With the anticipated opening of Hag Hollow, my destination broom shop, I plan to offer opportunities for in person broom making retreats in the future.
